At today’s press conference of Macedonian Chambers of Commerce (MCC) led by Mr. Aleksandar Zarkov, Operations Director of MCC, it was discussed about the economic cooperation between Macedonia and China and the opportunities for increased exports of Macedonian products in China as one of the largest markets in the world.
Macedonian Chambers of Commerce last year attended the Summit of the Heads of Governments of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe held in Sudzhou, PR China, which opens new opportunities for Macedonian companies for cooperation deals and access to the Chinese market, which is beneficial for the whole economy. Additionally, during the official visit to China, the President of MCC, Mrs. Danela Arsovska, met with the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), the most powerful of Commerce in this country, which has over 4 million members, and at the meeting, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which formalized a contract for a specific project and direct access to the largest Asian market for Macedonian companies. The signing of this Agreement allow increased exports and promotion of export-oriented enterprises in China, as well as easier access to potential Chinese companies interested in investing see in the country.
According to the amount of trade, China is among the top ten trade partners of Macedonia. According to the State Statistical Office, in 2015, Macedonia’s exports to China amounted to 129 million euros, while imports from China in Macedonia is 352 million. 95% of Macedonian export to China due to the export of nickel, followed by exports of marble and wine, and imports from China constitute telephones, computers, televisions, textiles, air conditioners and so on.
Namely, in order to deepen the cooperation and create concrete opportunities for promotion of Macedonian products in the Chinese market, Macedonian Chambers of Commerce working with the Ministry of Commerce of PRC, implements activities for participation at the Investment and Trade Fair in Ningbo, PRC, which will be held on 9-12 June 2016 at the International exhibition Center “Ningbo”. Export opportunities in the following sectors: food industry, pharmaceutical industry, IT sector, production of alcoholic and soft drinks and high-tech products.
The Fair for Investment and Trade in Ningbo is an international event that brings together opportunities for investment companies but also for achieving specific trade cooperation with Chinese companies and companies from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) by showing more than 3,000 types of products from different business sectors where attending companies from 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe together with 45 business delegations of visitors. Within the fair, despite the possibility to visit the thousands of exhibitors from China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe will take place and Investment Forum which will be attended by companies and representatives of the People’s Republic of China and CEE countries and which can and Macedonian companies to attend, and will additionally have the opportunity to participate in conferences, forums, and cultural events.
Based on the signed Memorandum of Cooperation between MCC and the International Exhibition Center “Ningbo”, the organizer of the fair, for companies members of MCC, provides more benefits such as: free standard booth, free transport from airport to hotel, free local transportation and lunch during the fair as well as free translation into English, and also the Union of Chambers of Commerce asistitira and logistical support companies.
Additionally, at the show, it will be opened the first Macedonian taste exhibition space, located next to the fair in Ningbo, and will be operational all year. For all Macedonian companies want their products to be part of this exhibition space will be provided free transport from Macedonia to China, and the deadline for applications for the same is to May 10, 2016. From the Macedonian side, products of 8 companies have already been sent, and a second shipment to China is being planned. For this purpose, today’s Press Conference, was also attended by the official representative of the taste exhibition space for Macedonia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Tomislav Sumich. The exhibition space was created with the purpose of direct promotion and sale of Macedonian products in the Chinese market during the year.
