At the celebration of the International Day for Safety and Health at Work – 28 April, Pivara “Skopje” will continue the implementation of the voluntary project for the education of pupils in primary schools on topics related to health and safety in the school environment. This year, this education includes more than 8,000 students from fourth grades of more than 100 primary schools in 14 municipalities and cities across the country, which is a several – time increase compared to the previous two years.
The project is implemented through interactive and graphic presentations that are adapted to the age of the students and performed by employees of Pivara “Skopje” which, under the established practice of the company, regularly train and update their knowledge of health and safety work.
Through presentations, students in the presence of their teachers, gain knowledge and practical tips on how to properly hold the body while sitting in the school bench when working with a computer, how to prevent injuries caused by slipping, stumbling and falling and how to act in case of fire in the school.
“Having in mind that the good habits are acquired at a younger age and that they are extremely important for creating healthy generations, we are happy to realize this project by which we want to encourage awareness in children about the importance of health and safety in schools and later in the workplace. I am proud that this year, 60 of our employees on a voluntary basis, applied to transfer their knowledge to students. It shows our corporate culture which is based on the support of the values and interests of the wider community”, – said Mr. Jovan Radosavljevic, CEO of Pivara “Skopje”.
Besides the presentations, children received educational materials that should help in conveying the key findings and recommendations to ensure safe and healthy school days.
