RECONOMY PROJECT: “Empowering Industry Associations for Regulatory Reform in the Transportation and Logistics Sector in North Macedonia”

The Macedonian Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the official launch of the project “Empowering Industry Associations for Regulatory Reform in the Transportation and Logistics Sector in North Macedonia.”

The project is implemented in partnership with the RECONOMY Programme, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and implemented by Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, and is co-funded by RECONOMY and the Macedonian Chamber of Commerce.

This project is part of the RECONOMY Programme, an inclusive and green economic development program funded by Sweden, implemented by Helvetas in the Eastern Partnership and Western Balkan countries

The project focuses on strengthening the competitiveness and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the transportation and logistics sector by improving the regulatory environment and accelerating digital transformation. It aims to reduce administrative barriers through the introduction of integrated, one-stop-shop system, support the adoption and implementation of the e-CMR protocol, and enhance the digital skills of the workforce in line with EU market requirements.

At the same time, the project promotes inclusive economic development by creating better opportunities for women and youth, while fostering regional cooperation and more efficient market linkages across the sector.

The project will be implemented through the following core streams:

  1. Advocacy for Inter-Institutional Database Integration / One-Stop-Shop
  2. e-CMR Ratification and Implementation
  3. Technical and Digital Skills Training

Through this project, the Macedonian Chamber of Commerce will further strengthen its role in supporting the private sector, facilitating dialogue with public institutions, and contributing to the modernization and increased competitiveness of the transportation and logistics sector.

The Chamber remains committed to ensuring the effective implementation of the project in close cooperation with all relevant stakeholders and partners.
