The traditional manifestation “Day of Wheat 2016” took place and was organized by “Agrounija” under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, the municipality of Ilinden and supported by the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce (MCC).
The event was addressed by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Mihail Cvetkov, the President of Macedonian Chambers of Commerce, Mrs. Danela Arsovska, the President of Agro-Business Chamber at MCC and the General Manager of “Agrounija” Mr. Ognen Orovcanec, and Mr. Dane Boshev, Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Skopje.
At the event it was also discussed how to increase yield and quality of wheat and to reduce production costs, and there was a tour of experimental fields. Additionally, there was presentation of Macedonian wheat varieties, seed production on the lines of the varieties Macedonian Native, Balkanija Olga, Enhanced Orovchanka, Osatka, Agrounija Prima seed production Trikikale, and there was a tour of the macro, micro and comparative trials Macedonian varieties with the best Balkan and European varieties.
