Thirty-five children, aged 6 to 14, began to learn the basic techniques of skating under the free school programme organized by the company Eurolink Insurance. The school programme is organized the second consecutive year on the ice rink in the sports center Boris Trajkovski in Skopje. The classes are operated by the professional skating coach Mrs. Ksenija Jashtshenjski – Simic, who helped children to overcome the first tasks and techniques on the first class.
“Every child is an individual and is treated as such in the process of training. Their further progress and development in the sport depends on the talent they possess, desire, determination and effort they put in the classes. I am very pleased with the commitment and the desire that the children showed the first hour and frankly, I hope that among these children, we will discover a new talent for skating” said Simic Jashtshenjski.
The classes are held twice a week for a period of one month. The school will end up with the final event, to which children will perform with their own choreography. All participants who successfully complete the school will receive certificates that will be awarded at the closing event. The aim of the Winter School of Skating is to enable young people in the winter period to actively engage in sports and spend their free time in a creative and useful way.
Eurolink Insurance provided the selected participants with free skating terms for a period of one month, branded equipment and skates. The project is organized within the framework of corporate social responsibility platform Eurolink – Your connection to the actual values, aimed at supporting and promoting the Macedonian culture, art and education.
