The President of the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce (MCC), Danela Arsovska, in cooperation with Jaroslav Nanak, President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic within the Macedonian – Czech Business Forum, today, led business delegations from over 150 companies from both countries . The Business Forum is aimed at concluding partnerships for strengthening the business relations between the two countries, as well as increasing the trade exchange.
“Infrastructure, automotive, construction, agriculture with special emphasis on the food industry, as well as opportunities for realization of water resource management projects, waste industry, environmentally friendly technologies was the focus on which companies from both countries detected opportunities for cooperation. The trade between the two countries is upward, with potential for improvement and cooperation in order to reduce the differences in trade. At the same time, in the economic plan for further development of cooperation between the two countries, we will start intensifying business partnerships and promoting sectors with high potential for achieving success on a bilateral level, “said Arsovska
Jaroslav Nanak, president of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, noted that the Czech Republic has a long tradition of historical, economic and cultural ties with Northern Macedonia and the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
“Our trade links have a history that dates back to the time of the former Czechoslovakia. Traditional Czech brands are well appreciated and both countries have always been our valuable business partners. Their high economic potential will be further strengthened with the planned accession to the European Union, “said Nanak.
According to the State Statistical Office in comparison with 2017, in 2018 the export was increased by 14% and the import by 16%. The average growth of the exchange in 2018 compared to 2017 is 15%.
