Prominent business executives and roundtable policy on women in leadership positions discussed the representation of women in management and management structures, as well as the first start-up database of women in management positions.
The roundtable was attended by Culumseer Kasapi, President of the Parliamentary Club of Parliament, Danela Arsovska, President of the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce and Aneta Peseva, MASIT President and UNET Director, while Lenka Ugrivi will open the event.
“Our goal was to create a tool for networking women in management structures in enterprises and women entrepreneurs, as well as to develop a model with recommendations for including women in the decision-making process, their representation in the management and management structures of enterprises, such as and encouraging female entrepreneurship ", said Ugrinovska
Danela Arsovska, President of the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce, which is a member of the Global Committee of Women Leaders, noted that we face numerous challenges nationwide.
"The percentage of women in senior positions in Macedonia is far from the European average. While we have good examples from individual industries, the fact remains that 2 to 5 percent of women in senior management positions are unthinkable for any developed democratic country. We strive for quality to be the first criterion for every position in society, but as this is often not the case, guarantees are needed that women will get the position they deserve, "Arsovska said, adding that support for women's entrepreneurship institutions in Macedonia is still low. and a good example is Bahrain which although a small country, allocates millions of dollars for women's entrepreneurship and development.
Peseva pointed out that in percentage terms our country is at an advanced level in terms of Europe when it comes to women in the IT industry. In our country the share is 36 percent, and in Belgium and the Netherlands 5 to 6 percent.
Hulmesere Kasapi, MP and president of the MP Club, stressed that all women regardless of which party belong to the MP Club are driven by a common goal, which is to improve and increase the percentage of women in politics.
At the roundtable it was concluded that increasing the number of women in management positions in companies is an important factor for faster economic development in the country.
