The first center for innovation and development of small and medium enterprises

The first center for innovation and development of small and medium enterprises Today, the first center for innovation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises today starts with its work on national level, with presentation in the Association of Chambers of Commerce of Macedonia as part of the BIC-SR - Regional Business Innovation Center. In the business innovation center, entrepreneurs can translate their innovative ideas into concrete solutions and make it easier to use European and domestic funding. Future entrepreneurs will receive support from professors from the University of Stip and from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of UKIM.

The Regional Business Center is a bridge between the public, private and academic sectors, said Alliance President Danela Arsovska at today's press conference. "With the tripartite support we will enable the realization of the marginalized projects. It is necessary to use all opportunities together with the Business Innovation Center, science and institutions to give new impetus to entrepreneurs and to support small and medium-sized enterprises to use the European funds, because we all know that they hardest reach capital. About 70% of SMEs are represented in key sectors manufacturing, construction, tourism, trade.

Micro, small and medium enterprises play a central role in our country and in the European community. Confirmation of their importance in an economy is the fact that in the European Union, from 28 Member States, around 23 million small and medium-sized enterprises provide about 75 million jobs and represent 99% of the total enterprises, "Arsovska said, adding that according to the data of the SSO , the share of small and medium-sized enterprises in the total working population is within the EU average, 99.7% of all registered enterprises.

Additionally, the SME sector has made a significant contribution to the economic growth with around 68% of the share in GDP and two-thirds of the employees, which shows the importance of their support. Zoran Sapuric, Minister in charge of regulation for improving the investment climate for domestic enterprises, gave an institutional support and emphasized the importance of the Regional Business Innovation Center, which he believes will contribute to creating new jobs.

The Innovation Center in Strumica, which will be a blend of the real, academic and public sector, is part of the European Network of Innovation Centers, as well as the European Accelerator through the Startup Academy Program, said Ksenia Vangelova, Director of BIC SR. Companies' interest in the opportunities for EU Programs and how to use them for development and future investment is great. The possibilities and conditions for using EU funds before the companies were presented by the director of Finnova Juan Manuel Ravuelta Perez and Luigi A. DelAquila, Head of the European Funds Department of the European Academy of Regions. In countries in the US and the EU, it is estimated that SMEs contribute more than 60 percent in employment, from 40 to 60 percent in GDP, and from 30 to 60 percent of exports.
