16 + 1 Summit in Budapest: Increased cooperation between SMEs from China and CEE

High business delegation from Macedonian Chambers of Commerce, led by the President Ms. Danela Arsovska,  actively participated at the 6th Central Eastern European Countries and China (CEEC-China 16+1) Summit of heads of government and the 7th China-CEEC Economic and Trade Forum, with the theme on “China-CEEC SMEs Matchmaking

The MCC delegation, had significant achievements and fruitful results during the Summit. Arsovska had a meeting with Ms. Liu Changchun, Vice Mayor of Ningbo Municipal People’s Government and discuss about the participation of Macedonian companies at the largest traditional consumer fair in China, supported by the 16 + 1 initiative „China-CEEC EXPO“in Ningbo.

Traditionally, as a result of the excellent cooperation of the MCC with the People's Republic of China, companies have the opportunity to strengthen communication, interconnection, building trade relations as well as promotion of investments. We actively participate in initiatives to increase cooperation and trade partnerships with China and 16 countries from the CEE through the mega project for economic, political and cultural cooperation. We believe that our participation in the 16 + 1 Summit will increase the opportunities of the private sector from the Republic of Macedonia“, said Arsovska.

The focus of the Economic Forum are small and medium enterprises, application of high technologies in the IT sector, medicine and health, artificial intelligence, environmental protection, modern agricultural production.

"SMEs are driving force for economic development and they are in focus of Governments around the world. The development of the competitiveness of SMEs and their global connectivity are on the priority agenda for greater cooperation of the companies from CEE and PRC, "added Arsovska.

MCC actively supports all the activities for increasing the business cooperation with the People's Republic of China, with special emphasis on promoting the Chinese mega project "One Belt, One Road" for the infrastructural and economic connection of Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The cooperation of the People's Republic of China with the countries of Eastern and Central Europe began in Budapest and continued at the meetings in Warsaw in April 2012, Bucharest Romania (2013); Belgrade, Serbia (2014); Suzhou, China (2015) and Riga, Latvia (2016).
